I always loved the coasts, so for the first post, it will be about our island's few but rare coastlines. Don't expect those beautiful white sandy beaches you can see in phuket, maldives or hawaii. In Singapore, coasts are covered by mainly rocky beaches and mangroves. Due to our geography and geomorphology, long large sandy beaches are unlikely to develop, only small patches along eastern shores. Western shores are usually dominated by mangroves. Not going to explain any reason behind this here.
Thanks to our efficient government efforts to develop our "garden city" agenda, many coastal parks were erected and artificial beaches was reclaimed and built. Sad to say that in the process, many original and natural landscapes our islands have were lost in the process. Nevertheless, brushing the physical landscapes aside, these areas where the coastal parks and observatories were built happened to be great observatories of viewing and relaxation. Looks like someone is really doing their job well.

Following which I shall introduce the best 15 coastal spots for seaviewing and enjoying the breeze.

Welcome amateur explorers.
Dear likeminded explorer younglings who unintentionally ventured into this site. This is a trial initiative to nurture explorer interests in the local community.
As this blog is still in its initial experimental phase, don't expect too much yet.
the idea is to uncover Singapore's best places, to promote real world connectivity and in the process to imbue a sense of love for our metropolitan city state
Au revoir
Have fun exploring! :)
